Research at PSE-Jourdan covers most fields in economics, covering both theoretical and applied economics. A research group covers a specific domain, with a group leader who oversees scientific research (including potential future hirings), is responsible for the interface between research and the courses in the Masters programme, and is responsible for the community of doctoral students in his/her domain. These research groups are not fixed over time, and overlap to a certain extent.

Over the past 4 years, the researchers at PSE-Jourdan have written:
391 articles in refereed journals, including 243 in journals referenced in the ISI Web of Knowledge, and 17 in Top 5 journals;
442 other publications, including 37 books or textbooks and 12 edited books.

In terms of international visibility, 6 members of PSE-Jourdan have an Harzing-h factor of over 20, and 11 have an Harzing-h factor of between 10 and 20. Many members of PSE-Jourdan are editors, co-editors or associate editors of international scientific journals (such as Econometrica, Journal of Econmic Theory, Journal of Public Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organisation, Journal of the European Economic Association, Games and Economic Behavior, Economic Policy, BEPRESS-JEAP, Mathematical Social Sciences, Health Economics, Review of Economic Design, Theory and Decision, Annales d’Economie et Statistiques, RSUE).
